I had Gmail / Gsuite on a half dozen domains for an embarassingly long time.

I always wanted to get away from it but didn't want to manage my own Postfix / other email server, and it always seemed like it'd be too much of a pain in the ass.

As my job was about to end, I finally took it upon myself to cancel and move over to another provider last week.

I felt great about it ( other than the twinge of regret that I didn't do it years ago and save myself probably thousands of dollars over the years ).

Then this morning, the first of July, I got my standard invoices from all my accounts.

(Google)[https://google.com/] still duitifly charged me ≈ $8/person/domain.

This was annoying enough but they've also apparently made it utterly impossible to actually talk with anyone in customer service ( or even any human being whatsoever ) to request demand a refund.

Interacting with any company of any size in any way ( other than to give them money ) has over the years become increasingly painful. Your only option has been to talk with some underpaid unempowered person in customer service who isn't responsible for whatever fuckery they've engaged in and who more likely than not can't really help. Now they've gotten rid of even that and all you can do is yell at an [ audible air-quotes ] 「 AI 」 agent who can do even less and doesn't care if or how much you yell at it.
