Building

I originally was going to run as an independent but the Arizona Green Party just regained ballot access. It is extremely important that we have viable third parties and although the Green party has a ways to go, they are here and on the ballot and focused on issues which are critical to our future as a species. I strongly encourage any leftist who, like myself, does not align well with the Democrats to join us in building towards a real alternative.

This is why I’m running for a previously Republican district. In 2016 Mark Salazar won a third of the vote in Arizona’s 8th Congressional because the Democrats didn’t bother running anyone. There are so many districts like that and while the State Legislature isn’t nearly as sexy as US House or Senate, they make decisions every session that affect us all - often more strongly and directly than those made by US Congress.

I am very serious about running and do not intend voting for me to be a「 protest 」vote and if we can get enough others doing the same, we can have a massive impact not only on the state legislature but on the future of the party.

We desperately need electoral reform including normalising the ballot access requirements removing barriers for individuals to run for office under third parties including the Greens, and to make them competitive and this will be a key area of focus for me if elected.

Alignment

I am strongly aligned with the Green Party’s platform.

There is no greater issue before us than the existential threat posed by the anthropogenic climate catastrophe and ecocide. It’s not the environment, it’s our environment. It is not ours to destroy and we can’t live without it.

Sunshine & Water

Phoenix is the Valley of the Sun. More than enough sunshine falls on our state to power the entire country. It is inexcusable that every home, building, and parking lot isn’t covered in solar panels which would drastically decrease our dependence on fossil fuels and give us the ability to live in harmony with our environment and without compromise.

Water is life - particularly so in a desert community. Having and maintaining a clean and sustainable water supply with responsible use is essential for us to continue to survive and thrive in this environment.
