Democracy

No issue matters more to me than democracy and electoral reform.

It should not take extraordinary talents or resources to run for office and participate in our shared governance. The duopoly has found so many ways to enshrine themselves into our laws and to make it nearly impossible for outsiders [ read: anyone who is a concerned citizen who is not a career politician who cares and wants to affect change ] to run and win.

This needs to change if we are to survive and thrive.

Fixing this is critical for addressing any issue you care about.

My primary goal if elected will be to draft and pass comprehensive electoral reform including sweeping improvements to how candidates gain ballot access, how we vote, and how our elections are run.

Universal Healthcare

By almost any measure, we spend more per-capita on healthcare than almost any developed country. Unlike developed countries, we do not have universal healthcare and our outcomes are far worse by most metrics.

I support creation of a National Health Service like the UK’s before the Tories chiseled away at it. Privatisation is nothing more than a code for stealing public wealth and putting it into private hands and that and the pursuit of wealth at any cost has left not only our healthcare system in shambles but every aspect of our lives.

Arizona already has an excellent public insurance system AHCCCS which is currently only available to people who are living in extreme poverty. Expanding this and offering AHCCCS for all is an obvious step towards world-class universal healthcare coverage that is standard in developed nations.

Comprehensive universal healthcare includes public health and the current active, ongoing airborne pandemic makes it clear that we need to take measures like improving indoor air quality in schools and other public spaces which would not only make everything safer for us all but improve mood and cognition.

Education

Is not vocational training. Comprehensive education from preschool through 12th grade and beyond should be high quality, universally available, and free.

If you had the opportunity to invest in your own life with as high a return as education, it would be foolish to pass it up. Informed, educated citizens make better citizens and everyone should have the option to have a broad liberal arts education without the undue focus on direct, personal return on investment because that is best for everyone, as a society, and it enriches our lives by giving us greater appreciation and understanding of others and ourselves.

Basic Needs

Food, shelter, clothing, housing, mobility, and autonomy are basic human rights and should be available universally to all as part of our social contract to promote the general welfare and blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.

Pro-Abortion

Abortion is healthcare and just as I am 100% pro-appendectomy, I am 100% pro-abortion.

I am a strong proponent of bodily autonomy and individual choice and support and campaign for the Arizona Abortion Access Act
